The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a local man on Monday for hitting his wife during an argument, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a regular press conference yesterday at PJ headquarters in Zape.
Lei said that the suspect is a 49-year-old renovation worker surnamed Lao while the victim is his 51-year-old wife who works in a casino. The two got married on the mainland in 1992 and the victim has been living in Macau since 2002. They have a 23-year-old son and a 19-year-old daughter.
According to Lei, the police received a call from the victim about a domestic violence incident hence police officers went to the couple’s flat in Rua dos Pescadores.
