Local think tank Macau Synergy Association yesterday slammed the government for failing to ensure that all the residential building lifts that have been issued safety certificates by the government undergo safety examinations every year.

The group also urged the government to draft a bill regulating the operation of the city’s lifts and escalators as soon as possible.

The group addressed the issue during a press conference at its office near Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro.
