Three men from the mainland were arrested for theft on Monday while the flat where they were staying in Nape turned out to be an illegal inn, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Fong Cheong Chun said yesterday during a regular press conference in Zape.
Fong identified the three suspects as 28-year-old Zhao from Henan province, 38-year-old Li from Liaoning province and 40-year-old Jiang from Anhui province, with all claiming to be unemployed.
Fong said that on Monday afternoon police officers patrolling in Avenida Infante Dom Henrique saw the trio acting suspiciously hence the officers followed them.
