Secretary for Economy and Finance Lionel Leong Vai Tac said yesterday that Macau will make further contributions as a service platform for financial services for China and the world’s eight Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs).
Leong made the remarks in his opening speech during a ceremony to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs), at the Four Seasons Hotel in Cotai.
According to Leong, thanks to increased trade and investment between China and the PSCs, Macau has been able to strengthen its platform for yuan-clearing services, adding that this would also match Macau’s own financial system.
