The Macau Customs Service said in a statement yesterday that its officers recently busted an illegal immigration case.
In the early hours of Sunday, the Macau Customs Service received a report from its counterpart in the mainland that a speedboat was travelling fast near the runway of the local airport, the statement said.
According to the statement, a Customs Service speedboat was deployed to intercept the vessel – which had two skippers. Customs officers told one of the skippers to stop his boat. However, the skipper ignored the officers’ order, the statement said, adding that the skipper even accelerated and deliberately slammed his vessel into the customs boat, in an attempt to escape.
