Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam Chon Weng promised yesterday that the government will come up with more precise measures to help the intellectually disabled and others with disabilities.

Tam made the remarks in a speech during the opening ceremony of the premises of the Association of the Intellectually Disabled and their Elderly Parents, in Areia Preta.

According to Tam, there are seven residential care homes, providing a total of 638 places, and eight day-care centres for the intellectually disabled in Macau.
