The Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM) – a semi-government entity – yesterday announced details of a scheme to subsidise small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the installation of cargo lifts in their shops in the city’s low-lying areas.

The subsidy scheme, which also includes technological assistance, aims to allow business owners and their staff to lift their goods off the ground quickly if flooding hits their neighbourhoods.

The subsidy covers 80 percent of the total installation cost with a maximum amount of 100,000 patacas. The application period for the subsidy started yesterday and runs until April 17 next year.
