The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a male mainlander yesterday for robbing a woman in the Inner Harbour area earlier this week, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said yesterday during a special news conference in Zape.
Lei identified the suspect as a 29-year-old surnamed Hu, from Jiangxi province, who claimed to be unemployed while the victim is a local woman in her forties.
According to Lei, the victim left work at about 11 p.m. on Sunday, and was walking along Rua Nova do Comércio. Suddenly, Hu appeared and pushed her to the ground. Threatening the victim with a stick-like object, Hu demanded all her valuables otherwise he would hurt her. The victim was screaming for help, but to no avail, and was robbed of her handbag. Hu fled the scene immediately
