A man from Hong Kong was arrested early yesterday morning at the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal for smuggling cocaine, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Ho Chan Nam announced at a special press conference yesterday.
The suspect is a 26-year-old warehouse worker surnamed Cheng, according to Ho.
Ho said that Cheng arrived at the ferry terminal after midnight. After passing through immigration, he was stopped by a customs officer for inspection. Cheng reacted by hurriedly taking a bag out of his pocket and then throwing it on the ground.
The 120 small packets of cocaine smuggled by the suspect from Hong Kong to Macau are displayed at the PJ headquarters yesterday. Photo: Iong Tat Choi
