The Parisian Macau’s inaugural Light the Night Run on Saturday involved an afternoon of fun activities for all the family to enjoy as well as exercise workshops all culminating in 580 athletes doing a lap around the Venetian and the Parisian and tackling the 750 stairs up the half-sized Eiffel Tower all in the name of charity, in this case Macau Special Olympics.
The event raised 150,000 patacas for the Special Olympics which the organisation’s CEO and director, Hetzer Siu Yu Hong, said would go towards the Special Olympics Bowling Team so that more people could be involved and more disabled youngsters could try their hand at a new sport.
Throughout the afternoon there were face-painting workshops for children and workout sessions for mums, dads and their offspring. On the stage there were plate jugglers, dancers from the Parisian Cabaret at the Parisian Theatre and a band that played on into the night.
