The Transport Infrastructure Office (GIT) said in a statement yesterday that the government and the manufacturer of Macau’s Light Rail Transit (LRT) trains have agreed on the termination of their agreement for purchasing additional trains.
Macau’s LRT trains are supplied by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
According to the statement, the agreement primarily covers the settlement of the works already carried out by the LRT train supplier, purchased materials, the processing and delivery of already produced materials and components, as well as advance payments and settlement progress payments. The amount involves about 360 million patacas, the statement said.
