The Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) yesterday launched a new mobile website named “EasyGo”, available in traditional and simplified Chinese characters, English and Portuguese, aiming to assist local residents and tourists by providing information on municipal and other facilities.

During a press conference at the bureau’s headquarters in Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro yesterday, IACM Administration committee member Isabel Celeste Jorge said that the website was part of the government’s plan to develop Macau into a smart city.

According to Celeste Jorge, there are 30 tourist sign posts with QR codes on them which have been set up on the peninsula, Taipa and Coloane. After scanning the QR code, a user can get access to information including the history, location and an audio guide about the bureau’s municipal facilities. She said that EasyGo could also be used to show the way to a specific bus stop, as well as other suggested walking tour routes and the estimated walking time.
