Two telecom shops and a pawnshop were allegedly involved in a telephone scam in which a local woman lost over 710,000 patacas, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Choi Ian Fai said during a special press conference in Rua de Pequim yesterday.
According to Choi, the victim is local housewife in her twenties, who surname was not revealed.
Choi said the victim had received phone calls from people claiming to be delivery company staff members and mainland law enforcing officers, demanding she transfer money to a provided bank account for “inspection”.
