Local boxer Ng Kuok Kun aka KK aka The Macau Kid will be defending his China Professional Boxing Union (CPBU) belt in Ding’an, Haikou tomorrow.
In defence of his Super Welterweight (154lbs) title, KK (12-0-0, 7 KOs) will be up against Thailand’s Wathanyu (10-5-5) in a 10-round fight taking place in Ding’an, Haikou, which is on Hainan Island on the mainland.
Hainan is the smallest and southernmost province on the mainland, consisting of various islands in the South China Sea. Hainan Island is almost on the same latitude as Hawaii and has the same tropical monsoon climate and is often known as the “Eastern Hawaii”.
