Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On said yesterday that the local government would promote the “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI) through Macau’s platform role, and seize the great opportunities of co-operation in the field of infrastructure construction which was one crucial element of the BRI.
Chui made the remarks during a speech at the opening ceremony of the 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) at the Venetian yesterday.
The IIICF was founded in 2010 and was held in Beijing until 2012 then relocated to Macau, this year’s forum continued with the theme of “Fostering New Drivers of Development to Boost Infrastructure Construction and Connectivity”. The two-day forum ends today.
