Yesterday afternoon saw the third and final greyhound adoption day at the Macau (Yat Yuen) Canidrome in Fai Chi Kei which will be closed for good later this month.

From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. people queued to collect adoption forms for the 87 greyhounds that were on display. All of which had been adopted by the end of the day.

The frightened, muzzled greyhounds were paraded in a ring and then taken to an area where they were surrounded by crowds of people taking selfies with them, manhandling them to get the best shot, people pushing, shoving and shouting as the animals shook in fear at the unfamiliarity of it all.
