A local man poured boiling cooking oil and drain cleaner over his wife in their home in Taipa last Thursday after a heated argument about a possible divorce, which caused the victim to suffer serious burns and possible blindness, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chan Wun Man said during a regular press conference yesterday in the PJ headquarters in Zapa.
After the woman was viciously attacked, she asked neighbours for help who then reported the case to the police, after which police officers arriving at the scene arrested the attacker, according to Chan.
Chan identified the suspect as a 40-year-old insurance agent and his wife as a 31-year-old real estate agent. They were married in 2010 and have a 6-year-old son, Chan said.
