The Executive Council has announced that the government has drafted a bill to amend the Chief Executive Election Law, which proposes that two members of the Chief Executive Election Committee will come from the city’s future municipal organisation.
The government is proposing the chief executive election law amendment bill, after the Legislative Assembly (AL) last month passed a government-initiated bill on the establishment of a non-political municipal organisation in Macau. The new law was promulgated in the Official Gazette (BO) last week.
Leong Heng Teng, the spokesman for the government’s top advisory body, made the announcement during a press conference at Government Headquarters on Friday.
