Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On said yesterday that the government plans to build warehouses for hazardous materials on the land reclamation zone known as Zone E1 outside Pac On in Taipa “in the medium term.”
Chui made the remarks when answering lawmaker-cum-unionist Jose Maria Pereira Coutinho’s question during a Q&A session in the legislature’s hemicycle.
In his question, Coutinho noted that the government’s proposed locations in Coloane’s Concordia Industrial Park for two warehouses for hazardous materials have faced strong opposition from residents living nearby.
