Public Library Management Department Chief Ophelia Tang Mei Lin will be subject to disciplinary proceedings in the wake of a hard-hitting report by the Commission of Audit in May which revealed serious negligence in the cataloguing and conservation of books as well as the spending of millions of patacas on the indiscriminate purchasing of books.
Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) President Mok Ian Ian announced the disciplinary proceedings on the sidelines of a public function yesterday.
According to Mok, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam Chon Weng has already approved a report on the shortcomings unearthed by government auditors and recommended that the disciplinary action go ahead.
