About 100 firemen took part in a drill yesterday to ensure that people in low-lying areas are evacuated during storm surges when there is a typhoon.

According to the Fire Services Bureau’s statement, the drill was to strengthen the communications and cooperation between different departments in the bureau, and the capability to tackle emergency situations.

The drill also invited representatives of associations from the northern district to observe the exercise, which took place in Ilha Verde and Toi San districts.
