The Macau Customs Service said in a statement yesterday that its officers raided two shops on Tuesday selling fake branded caps, clothes and shower shoes.

Both of the shops are run by a local man, the statement said.

Customs officers inspected the two shops – in a shopping centre in the city centre – earlier this month where they found that branded merchandise there “was of a poor quality” and was being sold cheaply, the statement said, adding that therefore the officers suspected that the items for sale were fake branded products.

This undated handout photo provided by the Macau Customs Service yesterday shows two customs officers putting a cordon around a local shop in the city centre where they and fellow officers seized fake branded products on Tuesday.
