A 76-year-old local man who sought treatment at the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital Centre on Tuesday has been diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease, the Health Bureau (SSM) said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the patient was originally diagnosed with pneumonia and then his urine antigen test came back positive for Legionella pneumophila.
According to the statement, the patient was hospitalised, adding that the patient is semi-unconscious and in a critical condition.
