Drunk driver flees after car crash: police

The Public Security Police (PSP) have caught a local man who fled after crashing into a roadside barrier in Taipa, a PSP statement said yesterday.

According to the statement, the driver is a local man in his twenties.

The statement said that a car crashed into a roadside barrier on the pavement in Rua de Nam Keng at 6:30 a.m. yesterday, and when the police arrived, the car was gone. During the investigation, PSP officers found the suspect and his damaged car near the crash scene. The car’s right wing and bumper were damaged in the crash. He was immediately breathalysed, which he failed.

The case has been transferred to the Public Prosecution Office (MP) for further investigation.
