Professional snooker contest debuts in Macau

The first Macau Masters snooker competition was held on Wednesday and yesterday at JW Marriott Macau hotel. It started with a team competition on Wednesday which involved Team A consisting of Welshman Mark Williams, aka “The Welsh Potting Machine”, mainland China’s Zhang Anda, aka “Mighty Mouse”, Englishman Joe Perry, aka “The Fen Potter” and “The Gentleman Professional”, Hongkonger Marco Fu Ka-chun, aka “Hong Kong Fury”, and Team B with Englishman Barry Hawkins, aka “The Hawk”, Welshman Ryan Day, aka “Dynamite”, and mainland China’s Zhao Xintong and Zhou Yuelong.

Team B won the competition and shared the prize of US$50,000.

The 2018 Macau Masters was the first World Snooker-sanctioned tournament in Macau, according to the world snooker website.
