A 48-year-old female domestic helper from Vietnam surnamed Vu has been arrested for casino loan sharking, the Judiciary Police (PJ) announced at a press conference yesterday.
PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam said that a Hong Kong man reported the case to the police on October 10, saying he had borrowed around 10,000 patacas in total from Vu on two occasions between May and July 2017.
Vu first loaned him 5,000 patacas and HK$5,000 on the second occasion. Ho also said that Vu told him that he would have to pay 30 percent interest on the loans he borrowed if he did not repay it on time.
