The Macau Customs Service said in a statement yesterday that its officers busted two people-smuggling cases in the early hours of Saturday.
According to the statement, the first case occurred around 2 a.m. yesterday when Customs Service officers on patrol near Avenida do Aeroporto and Avenida da Nave Desportiva saw a man and a woman acting suspiciously, and intercepted them. The woman failed to produce any ID documents, while the man was a suspected “snakehead”.
In Cantonese jargon, “snakehead” is a people smuggler.
