Four Malaysians in two separate cases were caught arriving at the local airport from Kuala Lumpur yesterday smuggling heroin and methamphetamine, also known as Ice, worth a total of 19 million patacas, a Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman said at a press briefing at the airport in Taipa yesterday.
PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lun said that police officers cracked the first case by stopping a 25-year-old Malaysian man surnamed Lam who was behaving suspiciously when he arrived at the airport at about 10 a.m. from Kuala Lumpur.
Leng said that during a search, they found that Lam, who claimed to be an employee of a currency exchange company, was hiding 740 grammes of heroin in his shoes.
