MGM Macau is going for a sweet Christmas this year, bringing in a sweets-making workshop where you get to design and make your own lollipop, or just get some readymade or personalised sticks of rock that are great for party gifts and stocking fillers.
The pop-up sweets shop at MGM Macau’s Grande Praça has crowds of spectators as sugar artisans create Christmas-themed lollipops and sticks of rock with all sorts of patterns, images and words – even in Chinese – from just granulated sugar and glucose syrup right in front of their eyes.
Besides watching how rock is made, visitors can sign up to make their own lollipop in a DIY workshop, which runs twice a day at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., with each session lasting about 45 to 60 minutes. The workshop is for those aged 12 or above and costs 350 patacas per person.
