Three mainland men burgled a flat in Rua Nova a Guia in September by climbing up scaffolding erected on the outside the building for repairs, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Choi Ian Fai said at a special press conference on Saturday.
Only one of the three suspects had been arrested at the time of the press conference. The man, surnamed Wei, is an unemployed 18-year-old from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The police received a report in the early morning of September 9 that a flat in the middle of a six-storey building in Rua Nova a Guia had been burgled. The victim reported that he and his family had left the flat at around 7 p.m. that night and when they returned at 10 p.m. found that the living room and one of the bedrooms had been ransacked, after which they called the police, according to Choi.
