About 300 roadworks will be carried out next year, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) announced yesterday during a press conference at the bureau.

Addressing a press conference about next year’s roadwork projects, DSAT Deputy Director Chiang Ngoc Vai said that the government’s interdepartmental Road Projects Coordination Group, which was established in 2009, has received 298 applications for roadwork permits from government entities and public utilities to be carried out next year, a three percent decrease compared to the 307 applications for roadwork permits to be carried out this year.

Chiang said that 57 roadworks out of the 298 will be carried out in the city’s thoroughfares, a 35 percent increase from the 42 roadwork projects in thoroughfares for this year.

During yesterday’s press conference, DSAT officials advised residents to pay close attention to possible temporary traffic arrangement measures resulting from roadwork projects to avoid delays.
