Macau’s GNI rises 10.3 pct in 2017

Macau’s gross national income (GNI) rose by 10.3 percent year-on-year in real terms in 2017, while per-capita GNI went up by 9.7 percent year-on-year in real terms, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) said yesterday.

According to a DSEC statement, GNI at current prices amounted to 372.96 billion patacas last year, which was 32.83 billion patacas less than gross domestic product (GDP) at current prices in 2017, representing a net external factor income outflow of the same amount that was equivalent to 8.1 percent of GDP in 2017, slightly lower than the percentage (8.2 percent) recorded in 2016.

In 2017, per-capita GNI was 574,668 patacas, as compared to per-capita GDP at 625,254 patacas, the report added.
