The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a woman from the mainland on Saturday for allegedly stealing gaming chips worth HK$140,000 from a male compatriot whom she had just met, PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam said during a special press conference yesterday.
According to Ho, the suspect admitted to having only stolen gaming chips worth HK$60,000 from the victim – who, however, told the police that he had lost chips worth HK$140,000.
Ho identified the suspect as a 30-year-old saleswoman surnamed Wang.
