The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a man from the mainland on Sunday for robbing a prostitute in a guestroom in a casino-hotel resort in Cotai early this month with two accomplices, PJ spokesman Choi Ian Fai said during a special press conference yesterday.

According to Choi, the suspect runs an illegal currency exchange business in and around local casinos. He told the police that he decided to rob someone as the police have recently been targeting unlicensed money-changing activities in or around local casinos so it was hard to run his currency exchange business.

Choi identified the suspect as a 43-year-old surnamed Yan. The victim from the mainland in her thirties solicited clients in and around casinos. The police were still looking for the two other men at the time of yesterday’s press conference, Choi said.
