A motorcyclist fled the scene after hitting a three-year-old boy when he was walking with his father and his father’s friend in a street near Praça de Ponte e Horta on Sunday night, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Cheong Heon Fan said during a regular press conference yesterday.
The police located the motorcyclist later that night and took him to a police station for questioning; where he admitted to having hit the boy but then fled the scene, according to Cheong. The boy lost a front tooth in the accident.
Cheong identified the suspect as a local man in his fifties surnamed Tam, who told the police that he works as a commercial driver.
