A local man was injured when he tumbled down an escalator in a shopping centre in the city centre last night, the Fire Services Bureau (CB) said.
The 39-year-old victim, who sustained head injuries, was in a stable condition after treatment in the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital Centre, the bureau said.
The accident happened at around 7 p.m. in the Sun Star City mall in Rua de Pedro Nolasco da Silva. The man suddenly lost his balance and tumbled down the escalator when he was on his way from the first floor to the ground floor, according to the bureau.
