Macau and Portugal have initialled an agreement for the transfer of fugitive offenders from the two jurisdictions, the government said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, a Macau delegation paid a weeklong working visit to Portugal for talks on a bilateral agreement on the transfer of fugitive offenders and an agreement on mutual judicial assistance in criminal matters.
The statement pointed out that while both sides reached a consensus on the agreement on the transfer of fugitive offenders, further talks were needed on reaching a consensus on the agreement on mutual judicial assistance in criminal matters.
