Macao Water will continue to “optimise” its facilities, the company’s executive director, Nacky Kuan Sio Peng, promised yesterday.

Kuan made the pledge in a speech during the public utility’s Media Spring luncheon at Macau Tower. The event was attended by dozens of representatives of Macau’s Chinese-, English and Portuguese-language print and broadcasting media.

Kuan said she expected that construction of the fourth raw water pipe from the mainland to Macau will be completed in the second quarter of this year, adding that raw water imported from the mainland will be transported to Macau from Zhuhai’s Hengqin Island “progressively starting from the second half of the year.”
