The non-establishment New Macau Association (NMA), directly-elected lawmakers Ng Kuok Cheong and Au Kam San, and their grassroots Macau Community Development Initiative (MCDI) group – of which Ng and Au are board members, will jointly hold a protest on Saturday against the government’s plan to sign a reciprocal driving-licence recognition deal with the mainland, according to an announcement by the New Macau Association on its Facebook page yesterday.

Legislator Sulu Sou Ka Hou is a vice-president of the New Macau Association, while Ng and Au are the chairman and vice-chairman of the Macau Community Development Initiative respectively.

The groups plan to start the demonstration at Vasco da Gama Garden at 4 p.m. on Saturday, according to the announcement.
