Indonesia’s Consul-General Tri Tharyat said at the weekend that the health of his country’s migrant workers in Macau “is a big concern for us” because of which the Hong Kong-based consulate-general routinely arranges free medical checkups for Indonesians in Macau.

Tharyat made the remarks in an informal meeting with the local media at Café on Four at Macau Tower on Saturday.

The Hong Kong-based consul-general, who is simultaneously accredited to Macau, will become Indonesia’s new ambassador to Kuwait next month. He will leave for the emirate on May 2 after having been posted to Hong Kong and Macau for the past 2 1/2 years.
