The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested two male mainlanders on Monday for jointly committing at least 19 pickpocketing cases on public buses in Macau starting in late January this year, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special press conference yesterday.
The two men stole cash and valuables equivalent to 228,260 patacas from bus passengers in the 19 cases, according to Lei.
According to Lei, the two suspects had previously been banned from entering the city by the local authorities for previous theft cases that they committed separately. Afterwards, they separately entered Macau illegally again earlier this year, each by boat.
