Indonesian citizens living around the world voted for their new president last week, with the country’s presidential election back home scheduled to take place tomorrow. In Macau and Hong Kong, the election for overseas Indonesians living in the two special administrative regions was held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Some Indonesian voters in Macau said the election was rather “disorganised” compared to the one in 2014.
According to the Indonesian election committee for Hong Kong and Macau, by the end of last month, there were around 2,600 Indonesian citizens in Macau who were registered to cast their votes in the election – 1,000 more than in the 2014 Indonesian presidential election in Macau that was held in Praça do Tap Seac.
