The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a local man on Tuesday for robbing a photo processing shop in Patane district of 200 patacas when he told the female staff member on duty that he needed money to buy drugs, PJ spokesman Chan Wun Man said during a special press conference yesterday.

Chan identified the suspect as a 44-year-old unemployed man surnamed Ma, who was released from jail one year ago after serving time for the robbery of a convenience store in 2015.

On Monday afternoon, Ma went into the shop in Largo do Pagode do Patane and told the staff member that he needed to use the toilet. After about three minutes, he left the toilet and told the employee that he is a drug user and demanded 500 patacas from her so he could buy drugs, Chan said.
