The Judiciary Police (PJ) yesterday announced the arrests of a local man and two male mainlanders in a fraud case in which the local man allegedly cheated his employer – a casino-hotel – out of HK$32,000 on at least 15 occasions late last month by booking guestrooms with casino patrons’ membership cards and then handing the respective room key cards to the two mainlanders and other suspects – still at large – who then rented the guestrooms out to others.

PJ spokesman Chan Wun Man announced the case during a special press conference. The police launched an investigation into the case after receiving a report from the casino-hotel in Zape. The three suspects were arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Chan.

In addition to the three arrestees, the police believe that there were other suspects involved in the case and were still looking for them at the time of the press conference, Chan said.

Various items of evidence – cash, mobile phones, and check-in documents – are displayed in a pressroom of the Judiciary Police (PJ) headquarters in Zape yesterday.
