Macau’s 177 hotels and guesthouses recorded 1.18 million guests in March, a year-on-year growth of 3.2 percent, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) has announced.
According to a DSEC statement on Tuesday, guests from the mainland (835,000) and South Korea (45,000) rose by 8.2 percent and 11 percent respectively, whereas those from Hong Kong (104,000) and Taiwan (37,000) dropped by 20.9 percent and 5.8 percent respectively.
Mainlanders and Hongkongers accounted for 70.4 percent and 8.7 percent of all guests in March when South Koreans remained the hotel sector’s number-one foreign guest segment.
