Three more people have been infected with the highly contagious rubella disease, with the total number of patients reaching 37 so far this year, a Health Bureau (SSM) statement said yesterday.
According to the statement, the first of the three patients is a 33-year-old local man who works at a pawnshop. He had joint pain on Monday, then a fever on Tuesday with red eyes and a rash, and went to Kiang Wu Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday. He went to Zhongshan during the incubation period of the rubella virus.
The second patient is a 32-year-old female imported worker, a Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) staff who lives in Zhuhai. She had a fever on Sunday, then a rash on Tuesday and went to Kiang Wu Hospital on Wednesday.
