The sound of rhythmic drumbeats can be heard along Nam Van Lake early every evening for the last couple of weeks as local teams get into training to paddle in sync, ready to compete in dragon boat races this weekend.
This year’s Macau International Dragon Boat Races will take place tomorrow and on Sunday when local teams will be competing, and on Friday next week when qualifying local teams will be competing against overseas teams.
The event, taking place at Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre, is organised by the Sports Bureau (ID) and Dragon Boat Association of Macau, and co-organised by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP).
