The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a local man on Monday for cheating a local man who plans to get married later this year out of about 210,000 patacas by claiming he could offer the victim restaurant coupons at a discount, PJ spokesman Choi Ian Fai said during a special press conference yesterday.

Choi identified the suspect as a 31-year-old surnamed Kou who told the police that he is unemployed.

After his arrest, the suspect told the police that he was paid 14,000 yuan by someone to carry out the fraud and that he was told to deposit the filthy lucre into an account of a casino VIP room, according to Choi, who said that the police were still looking for the person who told Kou to carry out the scam.
