The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a female domestic helper from Indonesia on Sunday for stealing 62,000 patacas from her employer, PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lon said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Leng identified the suspect as a 43-year-old surnamed Ngatini.
The suspect’s employer, a local resident, reported the case to the police on Saturday. He told the police that he discovered that his domestic helper stole the money that he had left in his mother’s home on two occasions last week. The man’s mother, a senior citizen, lives alone in a flat in the city centre and was being looked after by the domestic helper. The stolen money amounted to 62,000 patacas. He told the police that he suspected that the money was stolen by his domestic helper, according to Leng.
