The harrowing “4.48 Psychosis”, considered late British playwright Sarah Kane’s suicide note, will this weekend be presented by a Polish avant-garde theatre troupe, whose director admits that the poignant text has put him and the cast in a state of depression.

Director Grzegors Jarzyna’s interpretation of Kane’s “4.48 Psychosis”, with actress Magdalena Cielecka playing Kane the protagonist, will be staged tonight and tomorrow night at the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM). The 60-minute performance is for aged 18 and above.

Kane’s piece of the same name delves into the mind of a person suffering from clinical depression, a disorder that Kane was dealing with at the time.
